Proverbs 31:30

Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain,

But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.

God, it would be so easy, and even fun, to worry about my outward appearance. You made me, Lord, and I enjoy your creation. So many times I foolishly focus on temporary things. My time is so precious because Idon't know how much I have. Give me strength to spend my time leaving a legacy. Help me to spend my time bringing glory and honor to you. You are worthy of my fear.

Psalm 139:1

O LORD, you have searched me

and you know me.

Like a father knows his child, you know me. You know every part of me - more than I know. You know my thoughts. You know my past, and you know my future. And yet, you love me. Thank you! I don't deserve the love that you have lavished upon me.

Lord of all creation, you are so faithful! Fall is upon us, and it is no surprise. Just as day follows night consistently, and summer follows spring, so your law and your love never change. I never have to guess what mood you are in (like some have to do with me). I never wonder what the rules are (like my children sometimes have to do). I never doubt your love, your mercy, your kindness. You are faithful and true. I praise your name!

Isaiah 40:11

He tends his flock like a shepherd:

He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart;

he gently leads those that have young.

Gentle Shepherd, as a mother who has young I am so thankful for your leading. Lord, there are days when I feel so overwhelmed with life. What a comfort to know that you carry me close to your heart. Like a shepherd keeps a careful watch over his sheep, so you keep constant watch over me. Thank you that I can come to you for guidance.
